July 2000 saw the launch of Leckhampton's new internet business package: Elecktra.

Taking networks one stage further Elecktra allows users to enter & access data, enquire on orders and run processes through encrypted login over the internet.

Elecktra is a user defined system adapted to individual clients needs. Working through browsers - Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator it resolves the long standing issues of PC vs Mac. Range of options include internal (staff only) operations through to full (with control) ordering / enquiry & billing for external clients.

Introducing Elecktra - Leckhampton's web applications server.

 Elecktra is program running under NT which provides a secure web server facility for virtually any application.

 Typically, though not necessarily, Elecktra runs on its own machine on a network which also includes the organisation's normal business applications. The Elecktra machine is connected to the ISP via an ISDN line or a leased line.

 Data from the business applications is transferred at regular intervals to the Elecktra machine where it is stored ready for presentation as part of active web pages. The business applications do not have to run under NT - in fact most of Leckhampton's sites have their business critical applications running under Unix.

 The web pages can be designed using standard HML & Java Script as pure client applications,. The designer need not concern himself with the database aspects, Elecktra sees to all that. The web pages are then presented to Elecktra to be used at the appropriated time.

 These web pages can contain context sensitive verification. If, for example, an item is available in red green and blue - only those items will be displayed and allowed for that item, while for another item yellow, orange and cherry pink may only be displayed and allowed.

 The Elecktra server can be used to receive data over the net -such as orders, registrations, reservations and instrument readings. Elecktra can be used for viewing  - both public and private. Elecktra can also be  used to produce /send reports and spreadsheets.
